As a special excursion, visit Taveuni’s only Pearl Farm, known as Civa Pearls, situated in the pristine Wailoa Lagoon on the windward side of the island. Owned by the Canadian aquaculturist Claude Privost, Civa is involved in a local sustainable aquaculture program designed to rehabilitate cylone-impacted reefs.  The 90-minute tour includes a visit to the pearl farm where Claude himself explains the process of raising oysters and culturing different types of pearls, as well as a guided snorkeling tour of the lagoon. You will also have the opportunity to purchase pearls and pearl jewelry directly from Civa.
