  • Travel by Ferry from Suva (once a week)

Upon arrival at the airport you will be met by one of the resort’s boatmen who will load you and your luggage into a truck for a 5 minute ride to a guest transfer boat. The truck may stop for a few minutes along the way to collect some resort supplies. The boat will be waiting at anchor in a small calm mangrove bay.


+ Accommodations

Oceanview Bures are scattered on a slight hill beside Matava to ensure privacy and easy access to the main bure complex and facilities. Built in the traditional thatched Fijian style and finely finished with polished timber floors, large airy louver windows, Queen size timber beds, locally farmed mahogany furnishings and en-suit bathrooms. Fully insect screened windows open onto your private sun deck with views out across the lagoon.

Solar power provides hot water as well as lighting. Mains power is available through the evenings for charging electronic devices and for the use of a ceiling fan during the summer months.

Surrounded in beautiful tropical gardens and immersed in lush rain forest the Oceanview Bures are a haven of privacy within the beauty of Fiji’s natural environment. Bures range from one Queen sized bed to larger family sized bures that have a Queen and one or two single beds.

Honeymoon Bures are scattered widely on the hill behind Matava to ensure complete privacy and stunning vistas. Built in the traditional thatched Fijian style and finely finished with polished mahogany timber floors, they have large airy louvre windows, King Size timber beds and private sun decks. The expansive full length picture windows open onto your private deck with views across the lagoon and Great Astrolabe Barrier Reef. The Honeymoon Bures are each nestled in their own nook in the rainforest to offer privacy, comfort and superb Pacific ocean views. Surrounded in beautiful tropical gardens and immersed in lush rainforest the Honeymoon Bures are a true heaven of privacy within the beauty of Fiji’s natural environment.

All these new design bures have private en-suit bathrooms and expansive private sun decks. Solar power provides night lighting for night time reading and comfort. Hot water is supplied to all the bures by our eco-friendly Solar Hot Water system.

Mains power is available in the evenings for charging electrical devices as well as powering ceiling fans during the summer months.

Each day you’re treated with a variety of distinctive and delicious hand crafted gourmet meals that reflect local produce and seasonal delicacies.

Breakfast: Enjoy a continental buffet breakfast each morning including fruit, cereals, freshly baked muffins and more, plus chef’s surprise hot dish that might be an old favorite

Lunch: Feast on tasty Tacos, light sun dried tomato pasta salads and Foccacha bread or perhaps a delicious tomato and corn soup garnished with herbs from the organic garden and served with salad, freshly baked breads and hand picked fruits.

Dinner: Dinner at Matava is truly an experience where the kitchen staff will try to impress you with latest and greatest creations using the organic produce from our garden. Every day fresh food and produce is brought from the organic garden and the kitchen goes to work making sauces and meals from scratch, hand rolling pasta, presenting only the best cuts of meat and the freshest of seafood.

Mad Fish Dive Centre:

Mad Fish Dive Centre is Matava’s on site PADI 5 Star Dive Centre. They dive the The Great Astrolabe Barrier Reef extensively and cater for all levels of diver from beginner to experienced. Mad Fish Dive Centre will take you to sites varying in depths, currents and visibility ranging from 20 – 100m where you can expect a kaleidoscope of colourful corals and wonderful marine life – we can assure you that you won’t be disappointed.
